Step Right Up to the 2014 Footloose Fun Walk!

Footloose Fun Walk

Step out of Spring and into Summer with the Society’s Footloose Fun Walk!

This year the event will be held on Sunday 2 November in Hagley Park, with the walk beginning at 10.30am.

Held during Parkinson’s Awareness Week to highlight the need to stay as active as possible, the Fun Walk is open to all ages and our members and the general public are welcome to participate.

Footloose Fun Walk participants have the option to walk, run or even wheel (wheelchairs and bikes have both been used in the past) the distance of their choice. The course is set up for 2km, 5km and 10km.

We will email/post information to our members in September, but be sure to mark the date on your calendar. Registration forms and posters are available on our website.

The cost is as follows:

  • Family – $20 (up to 2 adults and 3 children)
  • Adult – $10
  • Child (under 18) – $5
  • Under 5’s – Free

If your child belongs to a scout group, sports club or any other group and they would like to promote charity work, this would be a great opportunity.

The children could collect sponsorship for their walk, with all the money raised directly supporting people with Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson’s in Canterbury.
